| Full and Partial Immersion Baths | Warm and rising temperature baths can be taken with different herbal substances. There is a great variety of baths:
Rising temperature hip bath For this kind of bath you should fill a tub with a hand's breadth of tepid water. Then you can add hot water gradually unless the level of the water will be as high as the navel. The final temperature is 103-104'F. After the bath the patient should be wrapped warm and go to bed. The duration of the procedure is 15-30 minutes, the frequency should not exceed three times per week. Rising temperature hip bath is recommended for people who suffer from incipient and abating common colds, back pain (sciatica). People who have heart or circulation problems, hemorrhoids, or varicose veins should be careful while having these baths.
Cold foot bath You should place your feet into a foot bath filled to calf depth with cold water. Take a bath unless the moment you feel a cold stimulus or when the water is no longer cold for you. Then you should rib your feet dry, put on and wait walking or running till they get completely dry. One of the treatment’s kinds is "walking in water," it is the process of walking on a non-slip mat that is situated under the water. Cold foot bath is recommended for people who suffer from varicose veins, susceptibility to edemas, headaches, low blood pressure, circulatory problems and sleeplessness, proneness to the common cold, sweaty feet, or a contused ankle. People who have cold feet, very high blood pressure, an irritable bladder, urinary tract infection, diabetes, or vascular occlusion should avoid such kind of treatment.
Rising temperature foot bath, warm foot bath You should place your feet in a foot bath with water at body temperature. Then add hot water gradually unless a final temperature reaches 103-104'F. It is recommended to keep your feet warm after the bath. The duration of the bath is 10-15 minutes and it can be performed every day. Rising temperature foot bathes and warm foot bathes are recommended for people who suffer from cold feet, the beginning of a common cold, besides it is helpful for relaxation. People who suffer from varicose veins, lymphostasis, or edema should avoid such kind of treatment.
Cold arm bath You should fill a basin with cold water up to the moment it has a depth several inches above the immersed elbow. Keep the feet in the water as long as the procedure of the treatment becomes intolerable. It is helpful for headaches and sleeplessness. People who suffer from heart or circulatory problems should avoid such treatment.
Rising temperature arm bath The procedure is the same as the rising temperature foot bath. Such kind of the bath should be followed by a cold arm douche, then you should have half an hour's rest. It is recommended for those who suffer from bronchitis, asthma, incipient respiratory infection, circulatory problems, angina pectoris.
Sitz bath It is performed in a hip bath as a cold, rising temperature, or warm sitz bath. Before having a sitz bath, you should warm the feet, e.g. through a warm foot bath. You should cover those parts of the body that are not immersed in water. Cold sitz bath is recommended for those who suffer from hemorrhoids or inflammation of the anus; warm or rising temperature sitz bath is helpful for voiding the bladder, an irritable bladder, inflammation or infection of the prostate, preparation for pregnancy. People who suffer from hemorrhoids should avoid warm or rising temperature sitz baths.
