Chiropractic is one of complementary and alternative health care therapies, that is focused on diagnosing, treating, and preventing mechanical disorders of the musculoskeletal system, their effects on the nervous system, and on general health. According to classical chiropractic most medical problems are caused by "vertebral subluxations". It is a misalignment of the spine that allegedly interferes with nerve signals from the brain. Their treatments consist of a variety of techniques and methods called spinal adjustments.
Chiropractors are divided into four main groups: "traditional straights", "objective straights", "mixers", and "reform". They usually treat patients using a subluxation-based system. Only reform do not believe in subluxation. To learn more about chiropractic and its practitioners you can here: FAQs
