| Acupuncture FAQs | Before going on the first session: what should I do?
Don’t eat at least an hour before the session. The pattern of your pulse could be altered. Avoid alcohol and don’t drink anything or eat food that will cause the change of your tongue color.
How will I feel after the session?
You will feel relaxed. Sometimes you will be tired if the session is strong, but it will prolong for not long.
Should I tell something to my doctor?
If you are going to receive acupuncture session it’s important to inform the doctor (practitioner) about it. Doctor may prescribe you pills that can’t be taking during the acupuncture treatment. And the same way you should tell your therapists about the medical prescription you take.
What practitioner should I look for?
Find a practitioner that you could be comfortable with, who will understand you and your special requirements. It’s essential to tell him, what you want from treatment and what you expect. Explain everything clearly. Don’t hesitate.
What’s about costs?
There is no fixed fee as practitioners vary in their status. If you contact a few practitioners in your area you should discover an approximate fee level amongst them.
What is the ordinary number of session visits?
It depends on whether you tend to prevent disease or to heal some health conditions, that require treatment right now. Contact your practitioners that live in your area and ask questions that disturbs you.
Is it possible to buy acupuncture machine for self treatment?
You cannot provide self-treatment with needles or other gadgets. An experienced practitioner is essentially needed for objective diagnose and determination of appropriate treatment .You may find gadgets that are sold with manuals. They present anatomic points for certain symptoms.
Is it possible to visit simultaneously my doctor?
Many people are not satisfied with their medical treatment that could involve some drugs. If the results aren’t expectable in this case it’s normal for the patient to choose at the same time acupuncture treatment. But always consult your health practitioner or acupuncturist.
Is the acupuncture painful?
Never the treatment was painless. So we can say about acupuncture. But some people may say that the feeling is the same as if you make blood test or injections.
Are those needles safe?
Usually they are sterilised and are expected as an alternative treatment that can’t cause any harm. It’s considered to be safe and do not transmit any infectious diseases. |
