Herbs to Increase Fertility in Males
Nowadays there is the rise in infertility rates among men. Men’s sperm counts have decreased causing concerns and decline in fertility. Such reduction can be caused with the over-exposure to estrogen and estrogen-like substances that are available in pesticides, meat, dairy products and water. Such estrogen leads to a lesser production of testosterone and overall sperm count.

If there are problems with fertility, hormonal problems or weak sperm, a blocked sperm duct, herbal treatment is recommended. Prescription drugs cure fertility, but they can cause other complications and demand other drugs to treat these complications. Testosterone is required for the production of healthy sperm in quantities required to support fertility. Testosterone levels are extremely high in late teens to early twenties and then they get lower to 20% by age 80. Nowadays testosterone levels have dropped to 50%. Ginseng has increased the duration and firmness of erection.

The African herb pygeum, the Indian herb ashwaganda, and the Chinese herb fo-ti belong to potential testosterone boosting herbs that are able to increase sperm counts and overall sperm “strength.” Pygeum is an evergreen tree that grows in some regions of Africa. An extract from the bark is helpful against  infertility and lower prostatic secretions. Pygeum increases these prostatic secretions, maintains the health of the testes and the seminal vesicles that are responsible for the production and housing of the sperm.
The ashwaganda root is known as an ancient Indian sexual tonic for infertility and fo-ti has been used since early ages to make sperm count higher. Such herb as ginger is also a testosterone and sperm count boosting agent.

Tongkat ali was applied as an herbal aphrodisiac first and nowadays it is used to improve male fertility. Tongkat ali is used agaist infertility, it increases libido, boosting sperm count and protects the health of the sex organs.
There are some other herbs supporting fertility and sexual function. Dong quai is an herb used for fertility treatment for women and men; it provides healthy blood flow to the reproductive organs. Astragalus extract stimulates sperm motility. Saw palmetto does not help better production of testosterone but it helps the prostate to release more testosterone. Besides, it supports nerve tissue and provides the production of anabolic hormones; testosterone belongs to them too.
Herbal remedies and supplements used to increase fertility are not always effective. They are applied mostly, because they have no side effects. Be patient while using the herbs and herbal supplements, you need time to see if they are effective. Sometimes they cannot interact with some medications.
